TCU football will be without one of its top receivers in Alamo Bowl

TCU will be without wide receiver Jordan Dwyer in the Alamo Bowl against USC on Dec. 30 in San Antonio.

Dwyer suffered a foot injury in Thursday’s practice and missed Friday’s practice. Dwyer was TCU’s second-leading receiver this season with 730 yards and seven touchdowns. The junior is expected to return next season.

Dwyer’s injury opens the door for young outside receivers like freshmen Terry Shelton and Dozie Ezukanma to get more reps against the Trojans.

Other TCU injuries include Kevorian Barnes, Zach Chapman

Dwyer isn’t the only Horned Frog banged up, as running back Kevorian Barnes has missed the past few days of practice. He hasn’t played since the loss to Iowa State on Nov. 8.

TCU is also dealing with multiple injuries at tight end and could only have DJ Rogers and Chase Curtis available for the Alamo Bowl. Mason Peterson and Ka’Morreun Pimpton have missed practice.

Defensive end Zach Chapman has also missed this week of practice and appears to be a long shot to play in the Alamo Bowl.
