Last week: TCU is coming off a dominating win, but head coach Sonny Dykes was unhappy with his defense following the win over Abilene Christian. In what will be the final battle for the Iron Skillet for the forseeable future, TCU will look to avenge last season’s lopsided loss.
SMU beat Missouri State 28-10 last week and hopes that a statement victory over TCU launches the Mustangs back in the AP Top 25.
Aggies look for back-to-back ranked wins
Kickoff time: Texas A&M will play Auburn at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at Kyle Field.

Last week: The Aggies went on the road and beat then-No. 8 Notre Dame in a thriller, and will look to make it back to back wins over ranked opponents with a win over No. 22 ranked Auburn.

Kickoff: Texas will play Sam Houston State at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium.

Last week: No. 8 Texas won its second straight game after its season-opening loss to Ohio State and will look to stay undefeated against a Sam Houston State team facing the Longhorns for only the second time in program history.
Baylor preps for Big 12 season opener
Kickoff: Baylor will play Arizona State at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday at McLane Stadium in Waco.

Last week: Baylor easily dispatched Samford by a score of 42-7 and will face Arizona State, which’s lone loss of the season came against Mississippi State, in its Big 12 season opener.
Texas Tech meets first ranked opponent
Kickoff: Texas Tech will play Utah at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Rice Eccles Stadium.

Last week: The No. 17 Red Raiders have yet to face a serious challenge all season with their smallest margin of victory being their 43-point victory over Oregon State and will look for their first ranked win of the season facing off against No. 16 Utah.
UNT looks to remain unbeaten
Kickoff: UNT will face Army at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Michie Stadium.

Last Week: The Mean Green scored 50 points or more for the second time this season, easily dispatching Washington State 59-10. North Texas will try to remain unbeaten against Army, coming off a three-point victory versus Kansas State after starting its season with a loss to Tarleton State.
