Kickoff time set for final Battle for the Iron Skillet between TCU, SMU football
TCU football’s kickoff time against rival SMU on Sept. 20 has been set for 11 a.m., the school announced Monday. The final scheduled Battle for the Iron Skillet will be at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth and will be broadcast on ESPN or ESPN2.
Since Sonny Dykes left the Mustangs to become the head coach at TCU, the Horned Frogs are 2-1 against SMU. The Mustangs won last year’s matchup 66-42 in Dallas. The Horned Frogs (1-0) face Abilene Christian in their home opener at 7 p.m. Saturday. SMU (1-1), coming off a 48-45 double-overtime loss to Baylor, travels to Missouri State at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
