Houston flips Weatherford offensive lineman from TCU football
TCU lost a local offensive lineman to a Big 12 rival late Saturday night.
Houston flipped Weatherford offensive lineman Rhett Gray less than a month after Gray joined TCU’s 2026 recruiting class.
Gray, listed at 6-foot-7, 290 pounds, is ranked the No. 66 offensive tackle nationally and the No. 124 prospect in the state by 247Sports.
Gray had tons of upside with 247Sports scout Gabe Brooks saying “Quality (Power Four conference)-caliber OT who may need a little time to bake in college, but likely owns significant long-term upside with uncommon height/length traits that accompany a promising athletic profile.”
While you never want to lose a high upside lineman like Gray to an in-conference rival, his decommitment didn’t impact TCU’s overall class ranking that much.
With 19 prospects in the class TCU currently ranks No. 36 overall and fourth in the Big 12 behind BYU, Texas Tech and Baylor.
