TCU women’s basketball adds Texas A&M transfer Taliyah Parker

Hours after landing the No. 1 transfer portal prospect Olivia Miles, TCU women’s basketball added another transfer guard on Tuesday.

Texas A&M transfer guard Taliyah Parker announced on her social media accounts that she was committed to TCU. A 6-foot-1 guard from Grand Prairie, Parker spent one season with the Aggies and averaged 5.4 points and 2.4 rebounds in 17.9 minutes.

Parker will return closer to home for a bigger role and a better situation as Texas A&M went just 10-19 last season. Parker was a blue chip recruit at South Grand Prairie. She was ranked No. 60 in the Class of 2024 by ESPNW and the No. 6 player in the state of Texas.

She helped lead South Grand Prairie to the UIL 6A state championship game in 2024.

The Horned Frogs will have plenty of playing time to offer with the program needing to replace Hailey Van Lith, Madison Conner, Sedona Prince, Agnes Emma-Nnopu and Una Jovanovic.

TCU now has three transfers committed with Miles, Parker and Kentucky center Clara Silva. The Horned Frogs are also in the mix for Notre Dame forward Kylee Watson and is a finalist for Cal forward Marta Suarez along with Ohio State, Notre Dame and North Carolina.

Watson sat out this season with an injury, but played for Campbell while he was an assistant at Oregon.

There’s more spots to fill, but right now the Horned Frogs have built a roster that should start the season ranked in the preseason.
