Why was TCU’s Abe Camara ejected from Friday’s game against Houston?

TCU’s Abe Camara was ejected from Friday’s Big 12 Conference home game against Houston because of a massive hit on Cougars’ running back Stacey Sneed.

The hit, which came during a key first-quarter third-down play, electrified the Amon G. Carter Stadium crowd and caused Sneed to fumble. Houston recovered the fumble to set up a key fourth down.

After the hit, referees stopped play to check for targeting and decided that Camara had made forcible contact with an opponent’s head or neck area and tossed the safety from the game.

The Cougars were awarded half the distance to the goal and then scored the game’s first touchdown three plays later on an eight-yard pass from Zeon Chriss to Devan Williams.
