TCU men’s basketball set to play in 2024 Acrisure Invitational

TCU men’s basketball will head to California for Thanksgiving.

The Horned Frogs will compete in the 2024 Acrisure Invitational in Palm Springs with their first game being set against Santa Clara on Nov. 28 at 3 p.m. The winner of the matchup will play the winner of Colorado State and Washington on Nov. 29 at 3 p.m. while the losers will compete on the same day at 12:30 p.m.

Santa Clara has won 20 games or more in three straight seasons, but haven’t reached the NCAA Tournament since 1996. Colorado State reached the NCAA Tournament last season while winning 25 games.

Washington is led by former Utah State coach Danny Sprinkle, who defeated Jamie Dixon and TCU 88-72 in the NCAA Tournament. It’s not a high-profile field, but should offer TCU a quality game if the Horned Frogs can defeat Santa Clara.

Tickets for the Acrisure Invitational go on sale June 7. The Horned Frogs will also host Xavier in the Big 12-Big East battle on Dec. 6 at Schollmaier Arena.

TCU will aim to make its fourth straight NCAA Tournament with plenty new faces on the roster. Ernest Udeh is the only returning player from last year’s rotation as TCU brought in six transfers, four true freshman and will also play redshirt freshmen Jace Posey and Isaiah Manning.
