TCU football notebook: Where are they now?
With the 2024 recruiting cycle basically wrapped up, we know who TCU is bringing in from the transfer portal. But what happened to the players that departed?
Some found homes at other Power Four programs while others remained close to Fort Worth. Here’s an update on where former TCU players landed:
Quarterback Chandler Morris to North Texas: Morris won the starting job for the Horned Frogs twice, but injuries hampered his career at TCU.
Wide receiver DJ Allen to UTSA: Allen two catches for 10 yards last season. He could have a bigger role with the Roadrunners.
Safety Randon Fontenette to Vanderbilt: Fontenette was a four-star recruit and received a good amount of playing time as a freshman last season. Fontenette landed at a SEC program in need of talent.
Offensive tackle Jasper Lott to North Texas: A reserve offensive lineman joins Morris in Denton.
Wide receiver Cordale Russell to Colorado: Russell was one of the highest-rated signings in TCU’s 2023 class and had a promising fall camp, but didn’t get on the field much. Now he’ll compete for touches from Shedeur Sanders.
Cornerback Jai’Onte’ McMillan to Minnesota: A reserve cornerback, McMillan landed in the Big 10.
Linebacker Zach Marcheselli to Tulsa: The reserve linebacker had 21 tackles in three seasons for TCU.
Cornerback Mason White to Oregon State: White spent a season at TCU after transferring from junior college. White was apart of the cornerback rotation, but was fourth or fifth on the depth chart.
Safety Javeon Wilcox to Texas Tech: Wilcox redshirted last season before heading to Lubbock.
Cornerback Ish Burdine and safety Chace Biddle have yet to commit anywhere. Burdine was slowed by injuries after transferring to TCU from Missouri. Biddle was a highly regarded recruit in the 2022 class, but played sparingly.
