Deion Sanders: Shedeur Sanders was motivated by snub from TCU offensive coordinator

TCU’s offensive coordinator Kendal Briles inspired Shedeur Sanders’ historic performance in the Buffaloes 45-42 upset victory over TCU.

That’s according to Shedeur’s father, Deion, Colorado’s head coach.

Shedeur Sanders completed 38 of 47 passes for 510 yards and four touchdowns. The 510 yards set a school record for Colorado.

Deion Sanders appeared on the “Pat McAfee Show,” and explained the history between Briles and his son.

“We went to the camp of a certain school, a certain coordinator we just played against [Kendal Briles], he’s the offensive coordinator, he was at that school, and we went to this school at camp, he didn’t pay [Shedeur] no attention. I don’t even think he barely spoke to him, just pushed him off to the side,” said Deion Sanders.

Deion Sanders went on to say Shedeur Sanders took the slight personally and used that former snub to fuel his legendary performance against TCU.

After upsetting the Horned Frogs, the Buffaloes play their home opener on Saturday against Nebraska.
