Deion Sanders: “I don’t think, I know,” Colorado can compete with TCU in season opener

Deion Sanders told FOX Sports analyst Joel Klatt that his Colorado Buffaloes won’t be overmatched against TCU in their season opener.

“I don’t think, I know,” said Sanders when asked if his team could compete with TCU.

Sanders is in his first season as head coach of a Colorado Buffaloes football team that went 1-11 last season. However, Sanders overhauled the roster bringing in big-name transfers like his son, Shedeur Sanders, and Travis Hunter to improve the team.

The Buffaloes had the top-ranked transfer class in the nation according to 247Sports.

Sanders has also shifted the culture bringing in NFL Hall of Famers Michael Irvin and Warren Sapp to speak with his team about how challenging this season would be with all the attention the program had garnered.

Deion Sanders said he was confident his team could compete because of the talent that was on the team.

“What is the commonality that all teams that went to playoffs had last year,” said Sanders “Didn’t they have a quarterback? We got that,” said Sanders

Sanders also emphasized his team’s athleticism and ability in the trenches.

“They had athletes that was relentless, that wanted it,” said Sanders, “ That’s what we brought into the house.”

TCU will host Colorado at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
