Just a few hours after TCU wrapped up its football practice, a number of former players entered the transfer portal.

It was expected attrition as the second transfer portal window opened on Saturday. Wide receiver Blair Conwright, offensive lineman Altrique Barlow, defensive lineman Doug Blue-Eli and safety Deshawn McCuin all entered the portal Saturday.

Conwright had more than 200 yards receiving in 2020 and 2021, but caught just five passes last season. Conwright had productive moments during the spring, but was behind Jordan Hudson and Savion Williams at outside receiver.

The Horned Frogs will also get Jack Bech and Cordale Russell back from injury over the summer, further crowding the room.

Barlow appeared in 10 games last season on special teams and was in a reserve role this spring. McCuin played sparingly over four seasons with the Horned Frogs and had 10 tackles and a pass deflection last season.

TCU went heavy on safeties in their 2023 recruiting class and already saw positive signs from early enrollee freshmen Jamel Johnson and Randon Fontenette.

Blue-Eli played in the first four games last season, recording a tackle before taking a redshirt year.
