TCU adds another transfer with hometown guard Trey Tennyson
TCU added its second transfer pickup of the week with a commitment from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi guard Trey Tennyson.
An Arlington native, Tennyson averaged 15.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game last season for the Islanders. Tennyson was a starter for two Islanders teams that won the Southland Conference tournament and qualified for the NCAA tournament.
Tennyson chose TCU over finalists BYU and Western Kentucky. Tennyson took a visit to TCU over the weekend and coach Jamie Dixon was able to seal the deal.
The 6-foot-4 senior guard knocked down 40% of his 3-pointers and should help address TCU’s 3-point shooting after the Horned Frogs were 334th in the country in 3-point shooting.
Tennyson joins Delaware transfer Jameer Nelson Jr. and Coastal Carolina forward Essam Mostafa, who committed to TCU on Monday. The Horned Frogs will also add freshmen Jace Posey and Isaiah Manning in the summer.
