The move is finally official.

Former TCU safety commit Warren Roberson has flipped to the University of Texas. The four-star recruit from Red Oak announced on Tuesday morning he was signing with the Longhorns after being committed to the Horned Frogs since Halloween of last year.

Roberson was originally planning to announce his decision last Wednesday on National Signing Day, but the winter storm that hit the Dallas-Fort Worth area caused Roberson to delay until almost a week later.

At 6-foot, 180 pounds Roberson is one of the top safeties in the country. He’s ranked the No. 258 recruit overall and the 22nd best safety.

Roberson took an official visit to Texas Jan. 27 and the predictions for him to flip started rolling in the day after. What could’ve played a part in his decision?

TCU has a bunch of experience returning and new talent rolling in at the safety position. Mark Perry, Bud Clark and Millard Bradford were starters for TCU’s national runner-up squad and are slated to return.

Meanwhile, the Horned Frogs signed four other safeties including three four-stars. Arlington Seguin standout Jamel Johnson and four-star Randon Fontenette are already enrolled and that group will add four-star Javeon Wilcox and Mesquite Horn standout Jordan Lester in the summer.

Roberson’s flip knocked TCU down one spot in the class rankings, but coach Sonny Dykes was still able to put together a top-20 class, the best in program history.

TCU will host Roberson and the Longhorns on Nov. 11.
