Texas Gov. Greg Abbott will be among those cheering for the Horned Frogs during Monday’s College Football Playoff National Championship game.

TCU is facing Georgia for the title at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California. TCU is ranked No. 3 and Georgia is ranked No. 1. TCU last won a national collegiate football title in 1938.

Abbott said in a statement said he’ll be at the game rooting on the Fort Worth team to bring home the championship.

“Texans are famously proud of our state – and that includes an unmatched passion for all of our college football teams,” Abbott said. “The Horned Frogs’ spotlight in the College Football National Playoff Championship is even more special to me because my grandfather was a TCU graduate, and I could not be more proud of the hard work and resilience of TCU’s football team that has earned them a place in this year’s championship game.

“Texas is number one in so many ways because of the wonderful people who call our state home, and I look forward to joining my fellow Texans at the game on Monday and cheering TCU on to bring another number one title back to the Lone Star State.”
