A day after signing the highest-ranked recruiting class in history, TCU is off to a strong start for its 2024 class with its first commitment.

Coach Sonny Dykes secured a commitment from four-star quarterback Marcos Davila. From Midland, Davila is ranked the No. 22 quarterback in the country and a top-50 prospect in Texas according to 247Sports.

Davila chose the Frogs over West Virginia, Baylor, Texas Tech, Mississippi State, Arizona, and others. Davila is listed at 6’3, 217 pounds and one of the best signal callers in the state.

He threw for more than 3,000 yards and 36 touchdowns this season. In 2021 he was selected as the District 2-6A Newcomer of the Year.

With the first piece for 2024 secured, Dykes is hoping to build off the momentum of a Top-20 ‘23 class that signed 23 prospects on Wednesday. Junior college cornerback Mason White signed with TCU late in the day to cap a historic day for TCU.

Now the Horned Frogs have their quarterback of the future. Davila’s commitment is just the beginning of what could be another special class.
