TCU soccer falls in Sweet 16 to Notre Dame
TCU soccer’s season came to an end Sunday night as the Horned Frogs fell in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
The Horned Frogs fell at Notre Dame 2-0 as the team produced 10 shots, but only one on goal. The Fighting Irish scored first in the 20th minute then added another in the second half to pull away from the Horned Frogs.
TCU ends the year 14-5-5 and the trip to the Sweet 16 was the third in the row for head coach Eric Bell.
“Congratulations to Notre Dame for advancing. We ran into a buzz saw today and they’re a good team. They deserved to win today,” Bell said. “I couldn’t be more happy with our group for the way they performed and played. They played some really good soccer and today we ran into a better team. I couldn’t be more proud of our seniors. We’re the standard in our league and before long, we’ll be in the Final Four.”
TCU advanced the furthest out of all Big 12 teams and finished the year 3-2-2 against ranked opponents. Messiah Bright once again led the way for the Horned Frogs this season with 26 points (11 goals, 4 assists) in 24 games.
Gracie Brian, Tyler Isgrig and Camryn Lancaster also produced double-digit points this season.
