TCU football lands commitment from four-star Garland defensive lineman

The TCU Horned Frogs officially have a Top 20 recruiting class.

Four-star defensive lineman Markis Deal committed to TCU over the weekend after the Horned Frogs’ thrilling 29-28 win over Baylor.

Deal stars at Naaman Forest in Garland and is ranked the No. 9 defensive lineman by 247Sports and No. 67 prospect overall. Deal had offers from Arkansas, USC, Alabama and Auburn among others.

Deal’s commitment pushed the Horned Frogs class from No. 23 to No. 19 in the country and he’s the highest-ranked recruit in the class, just surpassing North Mesquite receiver Cordale Russell. TCU has 21 commitments in its 2023 class.

Defensive line coach JaMarkus McFarland led the charge to sign the 6’4, 290-pound defender.
