For the third year in a row, TCU soccer has advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

The Horned Frogs knocked off Michigan State 1-0 in a cold battle in South Bend, Indiana on Friday. TCU didn’t need long to get on the board as Camryn Lancaster netted a goal just three minutes into the match.

From that point, it was about holding on as the Spartans began to try to draw even. Goalie Lauren Kellett had four saves in the first half, the most all season.

TCU limited Michigan State to just two shots on goal in the final 45 minutes to maintain their narrow advantage.

It was the 12th shutout of the season for TCU, who improved to 6-5-2 all-time in the NCAA Tournament.

“It’s hard to make that the expectation, but obviously we want to go as far as we can go,” TCU head coach Eric Bell said. “We want to make it to the Final Four and win a national championship. As a program, it’s a really cool thing to say we’ve done that three years in a row.”

The Horned Frogs will face No. 1 seed Notre Dame at 5:30 p.m. CT Sunday night. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
