TCU guard Mike Miles Jr. has been voted the preseason Big 12 Player of the Year by the league’s head coaches.

Miles is TCU’s first selection for Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year. He was also one of three unanimous selections on the Preseason All-Big 12 Team. Baylor’s Adam Flagler and Kansas’ Jalen Wilson were the others.

Miles is top returning scorer in the conference after averaging 15.2 points per game. Miles was a second team All-Big 12 selection last season.

Miles also averaged 3.8 assists per game to become the Big 12’s only player to finish in the top six in points (fifth) and assists (sixth). The junior guard led TCU in scoring in 18 of the 31 games he played, scored in double figures in 16 games and recorded 20 or more points eight times.

The junior guard became the first Horned Frog in 25 years to make the Big 12 All-Tournament Team in March and helped lead TCU to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 35 seasons.

Forward Emmanuel Miller also earned preseason honors as he voted preseason All-Big 12 honorable mention. TCU opens the season on Nov. 7 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
