TCU football injury updates: Chandler Morris available for Oklahoma game
Quarterback Chandler Morris is officially back from his sprained knee.
On Tuesday, Sonny Dykes confirmed that Morris, free safety Bud Clark and linebacker Marcel Brooks will all be available for Saturday’s matchup vs. No. 18 Oklahoma.
“All of them will dress, all of them will have the opportunity to play. I think it’s going to depend on how the week goes,” Dykes said. “They all participated fully in practice today. We’re trying to limit some contact with those guys, but I would anticipate all three guys being cleared and ready to play on Saturday.”
All three suited up for SMU with Morris even going through warmups. He was on the sideline in street clothes for the game while Clark and Brooks didn’t play. Those two have missed all three games this season.
Clark was going to be the starter at free safety while Brooks had carved out a spot in the linebacker rotation. Them being back is a boost for the defense.
As for Morris’ return, how does that impact Max Duggan? Duggan is off to a great start and currently leads the country in passing effeciency while being third in completion percentage.
Dykes doesn’t anticipate a change at quarterback, for now as Duggan is projected to start vs. the Sooners.
“That’s how it looks now as of Tuesday. The quarterback position is like any other position. You get through the week and see who you thinks give you the best chance to win and that’s who you roll out there,” Dykes said.
Morris won the quarterback competition in the preseason and started at Colorado. He sprained his knee in the second half of TCU’s 38-13 win.
