After a slow start offensively, TCU needed someone to step up to shake off the nerves.

Senior wide receiver Derius Davis provided a jolt with a electric punt return that he scored from 60 yards out at the beginning of the second quarter.

After going three-and-out and having another drive stall, the Horned Frogs trailed Colorado 3-0. Davis’ touchdown was set up by another stop by the defense.

Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson broke up a pass on second down and Brendon Lewis threw another incompletion as Coloraod was forced to punt to TCU’s dangerous return man.

Despite a rough start offensively, TCU lead 7-6 at halftime thanks to Davis’ punt return.
