TCU football lands four-star running back from Round Rock to bolster recruiting class

First-year TCU coach Sonny Dykes continues to put together a strong recruiting class.

The Horned Frogs landed four-star running Cameron Cook Tuesday night, Cook announced on Twitter.

The Horned Frogs beat out Texas and California for the Round Rock native.

The 247Sports composite rankings slot Cook as the No. 24 running back nationally and the No. 367 prospect.

247Sports’ own individual rankings are even higher on Cook as he’s slotted as the No. 15 running back and a top 50 prospect in Texas.

In seven games as a junior at Stony Point, Cook averaged just 100 yards per game and 7.99 yards per carry. As a sophomore he was a District 25-6A first-team selection and averaged more than 102.5 yards a game.

Listed at 5-foot-10, Cook took a visit to TCU on June 9. Cook is the third-highest rated recruit in the 16-man class so far and pushed the Horned Frogs to the No. 25 class in 2023.
