Last call: TCU basketball lands late slot for its March Madness opener vs. Seton Hall

TCU basketball will be playing the last game of March Madness’ Round of 64 on Friday night.

TCU, the 9-seed in the South Region, faces 8-seed Seton Hall with a tip time set for 8:57 p.m. Central in San Diego. The teams will be playing at Viejas Arena at Aztec Bowl, home of San Diego State.

The game will be broadcast on truTV with the crew of Lisa Byington, Steve Smith, former Mavericks coach Avery Johnson and Lauren Shehadi.

TCU and Seton Hall have never faced each other. Frogs coach Jamie Dixon is familiar with Seton Hall, though, going back to his Big East days at Pittsburgh. Dixon has a career record of 7-4 against Seton Hall.

If TCU wins, it will advance to the Round of 32 and a likely date with 1-seed Arizona. Arizona will face the winner of Bryant/ Wright State in the 1- vs. 16-seed matchup on Friday night. Only one 16-seed has upset a 1-seed in tournament history.
