TCU’s JD Spielman sidelined with an injury for Oklahoma game
TCU wide receiver JD Spielman will not play today against Oklahoma.
Spielman sustained an injury in the Kansas State game two weeks ago and was in street clothes during pregame warmups. Spielman had five catches for 56 yards, and four carries for 31 yards in three games for TCU.
Spielman has made his biggest impact in the return game, averaging 11.4 yards a return.
Junior Derius Davis could serve as Spielman’s replacement against the Sooners.
Defender Marcel Brooks is also expected to miss today’s game with an injury. Brooks sustained an injury in the Texas game on Oct. 3, and did not play against Kansas State.
In other pregame news, the Frogs have made a number of changes along the offensive line. T.J. Storment, a graduate transfer from Colorado State, took first-team reps at left tackle and is expected to start over Austin Myers. John Lanz worked with the first-team at left guard with Wes Harris moving to right guard. Quazzel White, who has started two games at right guard is sidelined with an injury.
Andrew Coker remains the starting right tackle with Steve Avila getting first-team reps at center.
