TCU pregame notes: Frogs rolling out new starters at QB, DT, OL. RB remains the same.
As expected, quarterback Max Duggan has returned to the starting lineup for TCU today as it faces Texas.
Matthew Downing started the opener against Iowa State last week with Duggan coming in the second half. Duggan produced more scoring drives and is the No. 1 option for the Horned Frogs going forward.
TCU would’ve preferred to keep Duggan on the sidelines against Iowa State to allow him to build up more strength and conditioning after he missed an extended time of training camp with a heart condition.
In other pregame news, the offensive line will have a new look. Coy McMillon will start at center with Esteban Avila starting at right guard. Quazzel White, who started at right guard last week, is dressed up. The rest of the starters remain the same with Austin Myers at left tackle, Wes Harris at left guard and Andrew Coker at right tackle.
Emari Demercado continues to work with the first-team at running back.
Defensive tackle Terrell Cooper is back. He went through first-team defensive reps. Cooper sat out the Iowa State game with an injury last week, and the Frogs’ D-line missed his presence. The Cyclones rushed for more than 200 yards.
Another D-line change of note is Khari Coleman getting first-team reps in pregame warmups today.
TCU and Texas kickoff at 11 a.m. on Fox.
