TCU football picks up big-time commitment from son of Chargers strength coach
TCU football received more good news Friday than just being able to start its 2020 season against Iowa State this weekend.
The Horned Frogs landed a big-time recruit when Argyle athlete Jasper Lott committed to the program. Lott, the son of Los Angeles Chargers strength and conditioning coach John Lott, is viewed as a tight end for now.
However, some recruiting experts project the 6-foot-6, 255-pound Lott as an offensive tackle at the next level. He’s also worked out as a defensive end.
Lott announced his commitment with a statement on his Twitter account. He chose TCU over schools such as Mississippi, Auburn and Arkansas.
Lott is rated as a three-star prospect and ranked as the No. 101 overall player in Texas by 247Sports. That website also lists him as the No. 64 offensive tackle prospect in the country.
Lott is the eighth commit for TCU’s 2021 class, including the sixth on offense. The Horned Frogs’ class is ranked No. 99 by 247Sports.
