Big 12 is going virtual for its football media day this summer
The Big 12 is going virtual for its football media day this summer, a league spokesperson said.
The conference athletic directors and coaches decided Wednesday to hold it virtually amid the coronavirus pandemic. Details have not been released.
The media days had been set for July 20-21 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
The Big 12 is the first Power Five conference to announce it would be hosting its media day virtually. Several smaller conferences, including Conference USA, American Athletic Conference and Mountain West, have announced similar plans.
The Big 12’s annual media day draws in hundreds of credentialed reporters, along with players, coaches and spirit squads from each school.
The Big 12 landed its first-ever title sponsor for the football media days when it reached a multi-year agreement with Academy Sports + Outdoors in March.
