TCU’s Sewo Olonilua lands with Dallas Cowboys after going undrafted

TCU running back Sewo Olonilua didn’t have to wait long to find a team as an undrafted free agent.

The Dallas Cowboys reached an agreement with Olonilua shortly after the 2020 NFL Draft ended, and intend to bring him on as a fullback.

Olonilua displayed versatility in his time with the Horned Frogs, lining up at running back, fullback, H-back and tight end. A source said the Cowboys are giving Olonilua $55,000 guaranteed, including a $5,000 signing bonus and $50,000 base salary guarantee.

The Cowboys fullback for the past two seasons, Jamize Olawale, has a contract that runs through the 2021 season.

Olonilua rushed for 537 yards and eight touchdowns last season. He also had 114 yards receiving, including one TD.

Olonilua’s best season came in 2018 when he rushed for 635 yards, including 194 yards in TCU’s Cheez-It Bowl victory over Cal. Olonilua was named the bowl game’s MVP.
