Four-team field announced for 2020 Hall of Fame hoops tourney at KC’s Sprint Center

Whatever happens this week, TCU will be back at Sprint Center before the 2021 Big 12 men’s basketball tournament.

The Horned Frogs, set to take part in this week’s edition the annual Big 12 tourney, were included Tuesday when the four-team field for next season’s Hall of Fame Classic was unveiled in Kansas City. The tournament also includes South Carolina, Northwestern and California. Games will be played Nov. 23-24 this fall, and the pairings will be announced later.

Gamecocks coach Frank Martin has participated in the event previously. His 2010-11 Kansas State team led by point guard Jacob Pullen reached the title game before falling to North Carolina.

The event is held in conjunction with the Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame’s yearly induction ceremony. The organization’s 15th induction will take place Nov. 22. The 2020 class is expected to be announced later this month.

TCU meets Kansas State in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament Wednesday at KC’s Sprint Center.
