TCU’s Darius Anderson shows off his jets at the Senior Bowl

TCU fans know about Darius Anderson’s home-run potential with the ball in his hands.

This is a guy who had a 70-yard touchdown against Texas as a freshman in 2016, and then sprinted for a record-setting 93-yard TD run against Ohio State as a junior in 2018.

Well, Anderson showed off his jets on a national stage at the Senior Bowl on Saturday. He had a 75-yard TD reception on a wheel route, hauling in a pass from Michigan’s Shea Patterson to help the North team defeat the South team 34-17.

Anderson went on to lead the North squad with 87 yards receiving on two receptions. He also had 43 yards rushing on seven carries.

Showcasing his receiving abilities ranked as one of Anderson’s top priorities at the Senior Bowl this week. He did that, as well as handled himself well in pass protection drills.

All of it made for a memorable week for Anderson, who helped his draft stock in Mobile, Alabama.

Other notable stat lines from Texas-based college players from Saturday’s game — Texas A&M’s Quartney Davis (four catches for 54 yards); Baylor’s JaMycal Hasty (three carries for 25 yards and one TD); Texas’ Devin Duvernay (two catches for 28 yards); Texas’ Collin Johnson (two catches for 25 yards); Texas A&M’s Braden Mann (four punts for 196 yards).

Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert was named the game’s MVP.

Next up for most of these players is the NFL Scouting Combine next month in Indianapolis. The NFL Draft is set for April 23-25 in Las Vegas.
