‘Sore knee’ to keep TCU’s Jeff Gladney from participating in this year’s Senior Bowl
TCU cornerback Jeff Gladney will not participate in this year’s Senior Bowl.
Gladney received an invite, but has pulled out of the all-star event with a “sore knee.” Sources said Gladney played through a meniscus injury all of last season.
Gladney is expected to rest and prepare for the NFL Scouting Combine next month.
Gladney is viewed as one of the top cornerbacks in the 2020 class. He led the Horned Frogs with 14 pass breakups last season. He also had 31 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss, and one interception.
For his career, Gladney had 43 passes defended and five interceptions in 50 games.
Gladney is gaining some first-round buzz. Dane Brugler’s latest mock draft on The Athletic has him going to the San Francisco 49ers as the 32nd overall selection.
Brugler described Gladney as “a junkyard dog at cornerback, using his speed and toughness to beat up receivers.”
TCU running back Darius Anderson is scheduled to participate in the game.
