TCU football signs another 4-star prospect to its 2020 class

TCU football landed a big-time recruit on Wednesday.

Alexandria, Louisiana safety Bud Clark signed a letter of intent to play for the Horned Frogs, flipping on a prior commitment to play for Virginia.

TCU posted Clark’s signing on social media.

Clark, who is 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, is a four-star prospect and the No. 31-ranked safety in the country, according to 247Sports.

“I saw Clark last summer at one of TCU’s camps and he was one of the better defensive back prospects I saw all summer,” said Jeremy Clark, recruiting expert and publisher of Horned Frog Blitz. “He’s got great quick twitch and can change direction very well. He’s 180-pounds right now but he has the frame to easily carry 12-15 additional pounds in his first year on campus.

“He definitely brings some added depth to the position and could be a major contributor by his second year on campus.”

Along with Virginia, Clark held offers from Ole Miss, Arizona State and Colorado.

Clark should provide quality depth to one of TCU’s strongest position groups. Free safety Trevon Moehrig just completed a standout sophomore season. And weak safety Ar’Darius Washington is coming off his redshirt freshman season.

Other returners include Nook Bradford, Josh Foster, Atanza Vongor, DeShawn McCuin and La’Kendrick Van Zandt (who spent time at safety and linebacker this season).

Clark is the fifth four-star prospect to sign with TCU’s 2020 class.
