The Big 12-Big East Challenge is set. Which team is coming to Fort Worth to face TCU?
A Big East team is coming to Fort Worth next season.
TCU will host Xavier next season in the first Big 12-Big East Challenge, the school announced Thursday. The game will take place in December.
TCU and Xavier have met just two times, splitting the all-time series 1-1. The Frogs won the last meeting, 57-47, on Dec. 30, 1980 in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the Lobo Invitational. Xavier won the first meeting, 80-76, on Jan. 12, 1970 in Fort Worth.
Xavier is coming off a season in which it went 19-16, and reached the second round of the NIT. TCU went 23-14, reaching the semifinals of the NIT.
The Big 12 and Big East announced this agreement before last fall, which stretches through the 2022-23 season.
