Big 12 announces TCU-Baylor prime-time kickoff on Black Friday
The Big 12 announced times for several games in September and three late-season weeknight games, including TCU’s season finale against Baylor on the day after Thanksgiving.
The Horned Frogs and Bears, who shared the league championship a year ago, will meet at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, at Amon Carter Stadium in a game televised by ESPN. Last season in Waco, Baylor’s last-second field goal won a wild 61-58 game on Oct. 11.
TCU, 12-1 last season and likely to debut among the top five in most preseason polls, is also scheduled for a prime-time home appearance on Thursday, Oct. 29, against West Virginia at 6:30 p.m. on Fox Sports 1. The Frogs won at Morgantown, W.Va., last season on a last-second field goal.
TCU’s nonconference home game against SMU on Saturday, Sept. 19, will be at 7 p.m. and televised on Fox Sports Net.
The start time for TCU’s home opener against Stephen F. Austin on Sept. 12 was not announced, but it could be another night game, which would make it the fifth on the schedule. The Frogs’ season opener is an 8 p.m. kickoff at Minnesota on Thursday, Sept. 3, on ESPN.
TCU was undefeated in night games at home last season, including a 41-20 victory against Kansas State in a matchup of top-10 teams. Times for the remaining conference games on TCU’s schedule will be announced later.
The Big 12’s other Thursday night matchups will also kick off at 6:30 — Baylor at Kansas State on Nov. 5 (Fox Sports 1) and Texas Tech at Texas on Nov. 26 (Fox Sports 1).
