TCU’s Jalen Reagor joins 1,000-yard club, makes school history in process

Jalen Reagor made TCU history on Saturday night at Amon G. Carter Stadium.

Reagor became the youngest player in school history to reach the 1,000-yard receiving mark. He did it in impressive fashion, reaching the century mark on the dot with a 6-yard TD reception late in the first half against Oklahoma State.

Reagor’s TD reception gave TCU a 7-3 lead going into halftime. The sophomore from Waxahachie has a TD reception in seven straight games, which is the longest such streak in school history.

Reagor joins Reggie Harrell and Josh Doctson as the only receivers in the 1,000-yard club. Harrell did it in 2003 as a junior, and Doctson did it his junior and senior seasons in 2014 and 2015.

Reagor entered the game needing just 30 receiving yards to reach the mark. He had 64 catches for 970 yards and eight touchdowns in the first 11 games of the season, including a season-best 177 receiving yards at Kansas last month. He also went into the game with a receiving TD in six consecutive games, tying the school-record with Doctson, and is now the lone player to have seven straight.

Reagor had five receptions for 24 yards before the TD pass. He has six catches for 30 yards and the TD in the opening half.

It’s an impressive accomplishment for Reagor considering TCU has lost its top two quarterbacks, Shawn Robinson and Mike Collins, to injuries. Third-string QB Grayson Muehlstein threw the record-setting catch to Reagor.
