TCU coach Gary Patterson picked up a big-time commitment from defensive end Adam Plant on Friday. Plant announced his intentions to play for the Horned Frogs on Twitter.

“Man God is so good I can’t thank him enough for everything he’s blessed me and my family with and continuing to be with me no matter what, with that being said I’m honored to say I’m committed to Texas Christian University,” Plant wrote on his Twitter page.

Plant, who is 6-foot-5, 245 pounds, was part of Arizona’s 2018 recruiting class, but never played for them. He sat out this season, in fact, and has been training in Las Vegas. Plant is expected to enroll in January, according to 247Sports.

Plant fills a major need for TCU going into next season. The Frogs will lose three defensive ends with Ben Banogu, L.J. Collier and Michael Epley in their final year of eligibility.

In 2018, 247Sports ranked Plant as the No. 41 overall player at his position -- weakside defensive end.

Plant joins Aledo three-star defensive end Colt Ellison as the only DEs in the 2019 recruiting class to date.

TCU’s class ranks No. 33 in the nation, according to 247 Sports.

Plant is the 17th hard commit for the class.

Along with Plant and Ellison, TCU’s class includes QB Max Duggan; RBs Darwin Barlow and Daimarqua Foster; offensive linemen Andrew Coker, Brannon Brown and Marcus Williams; DT Karter Johnson; DBs Deshawn McCuin, Donavann Collins and William Jones; linebackers Wyatt Harris and Zach Marcheselli; and athlete Dee Winters, Josh Foster and Tamauzia Brown.
