TCU was named one of the 16 regional hosts for the opening round of the baseball playoffs, the NCAA announced Sunday.

It is the second consecutive year and fifth time the Horned Frogs will host one of the four-team double-elimination tournaments. The winners from each of the 16 regional sites advance to the next round, a best-of-3 Super Regional series, and those winners go to the College World Series.

The teams coming to Fort Worth to face the Big 12 champion Horned Frogs will be announced at 11 a.m. Monday on ESPNU. The school is hosting a watch party starting at 10:45 a.m. in the Champions Club at Amon G. Carter Stadium.

The regionals will be played Friday through Monday.

The Horned Frogs swept their regional tournament at home last year and then won their Super Regional against Pepperdine en route to their second appearance at the College World Series.

Last season, the Fort Worth Regional at Lupton Stadium provided some of the most dramatic moments in TCU baseball history, including a 22-inning victory in the early-morning hours against Sam Houston State.

The school announced that season-ticket holders may buy “all-session” tickets for $60 until 5 p.m. Wednesday. Any remaining “all-session” tickets, which are good for all of the maximum seven possible games among the four teams, will be available to the general public at 8 a.m. Thursday by calling 817-257-3764.

Single-game tickets are $20 each but will not be sold until the first game. All seating is reserved, the school said. Standing-room only tickets for the grass hill along the first baseline are $15 and will be available after all reserved seating is sold.

TCU goes into the playoffs with a 43-11 record and having won 17 of its past 20 games, although that includes an 0-2 showing at the Big 12 tournament last week.
