TCU is having a bad season any way you slice it.

On the field, the Horned Frogs are 3-5 and will likely finish near the bottom of the Big 12 standings.

Off the field, head coach Gary Patterson has had to deal with the legal issues and dismissal of now-former TCU wide receiver KaVontae Turpin, as well decommitments from several prominent recruits.

And during the latest podcast episode of the The Audible with Stew & Bruce, Stewart Mandel of The Athletic says that TCU has been the most disappointing team in all of college football this season.

At around the 12:40 mark he said “I have say TCU. I had very high expectations for them. I actually picked them to win the Big 12. They are now tied for last place with Kansas State because Kansas got a big win over them (TCU).”

Mandel put the Frogs below Wisconsin, Cal and others.

TCU lost to lowly Kansas for the first time since each were Big 12 members. But TCU coach Gary Patterson said every loss is bad, regardless of opponent.
