Ex-TCU offensive coordinator for Peach Bowl squad fired from Kansas, per report
Kansas offensive coordinator Doug Meacham has been fired, according to Jesse Newell of the Kansas City Star.
A previous report from the outlet stated that the cost of firing Meacham could be seven figures. His contract reportedly paid him $520,000 per year through 2019.
KU coach David Beatty will assume the Jayhawks’ play-calling responsibilities, according to Newell.
Meacham previously served as Gary Patterson’s co-offensive coordinator alongside Sonny Cumbie from 2014 to 2016, during which TCU compiled a 29-10 record.
Meacham was then announced as the offensive coordinator at Kansas in January 2017 after leaving TCU.
There was speculation that Meacham could have been fired in the middle of last season, especially after the Frogs held Meacham’s Jayhawks to zero points and 21 total yards in last year’s match-up.
