TCU vs. SMU preview: Kickoff time, TV, odds and more
The “Iron Skillet” matchup between TCU and SMU hasn’t been much of a battle in the Gary Patterson era.
TCU has dominated, winning 14 of 16 games under Patterson. The Frogs got off to a slow start last season before rolling to a 56-36 victory over the Mustangs.
TCU is coming off an impressive season opener, defeating Southern 55-7. SMU, meanwhile, isn’t off to a great start in the Sonny Dykes era with a season-opening 46-23 loss to North Texas.
Patterson and the Frogs aren’t overlooking SMU, though. Dykes spent last season on Patterson’s staff as an offensive analyst, and the Mustangs showed promise late in their opener.
“We look forward to seeing a lot different SMU team,” Patterson said. “I think they were a little flat and you’ve got to give North Texas credit because they’re a good football team.”
