Not since 2004 had TCU hosted a game featuring two ranked women’s basketball teams.

In the end, the Frogs were too gracious of hosts.

No. 22 Oklahoma State overcame an early deficit and rolled to a 71-54 victory over No. 24 TCU on Wednesday.

After eight lead changes in the first half, the Cowgirls ran off seven consecutive points to head to intermission leading 31-23. TCU (16-7, 7-5 Big 12) stayed within striking distance at 55-50 with 7:13 left in the fourth quarter. But Oklahoma State (17-6, 8-4) limited TCU to one field goal the rest of the way and closed the game with a 16-4 run for the win.

Sophomore reserve Amber Ramirez was the lone Frog to reach double figures, scoring 17 points on an 8-of-14 night from the floor. TCU’s five starters combined for 8 points on 3-of-20 shooting.

Oklahoma State starters fared better. The Cowgirls were led by Loryn Goodwin and Kaylee Jensen who combined to post 46 points and 29 rebounds. OSU also dominated the boards, outrebounding TCU 51-32.

TCU heads to Waco next to take on No. 3 Baylor on Saturday at 7 p.m.
