TCU vs. SMU: What to know about the Horned Frogs and Mustangs

Series: TCU leads 49-40-7. The Horned Frogs have won five straight, nine of 10 and 15 of 17. SMU last won in Fort Worth on Oct. 1, 2011, taking a 40-33 victory in overtime. That is SMU’s only win at Amon G. Garter in its last 10 visits. Last year, TCU won 33-3 at SMU.

What’s this about: TCU is trying to finish its non-conference schedule unbeaten heading into next week’s Big 12 opener at Oklahoma State. But first, the Frogs must face the best quarterback and offense they have seen in the young season. Quarterback Ben Hicks and receiver Courtland Sutton will test a TCU defense that has allowed 333 yards and seven points total in the first two games. Next week won’t get easier with OSU’s Mason Rudolph and James Washington.
