TCU football depth chart has Waxahachie’s Reagor as co-starter at receiver
Freshman receiver Jalen Reagor of Waxahachie is on the verge of starting for TCU in the season opener, and junior Arico Evans is the new at middle linebacker with the move of Ty Summers to defensive end, according to a depth chart released by the Horned Frogs on Friday.
Reagor, a four-star recruit and one of the headline signees in the 2017 class, is listed as a co-starter with Jaelen Austin at the Z-receiver spot.
Co-starters are also listed at the H-receiver spot with Desmon White and KeVontae Turpin and the Y-receiver spot with Ty Slanina and Shaun Nixon.
Evans and veteran Travin Howard, the Big 12’s tackle leader a year ago, are the starters at linebacker.
Summers is listed as a co-starter at right defensive end with Mat Boesen. ULM transfer Ben Banogu is listed as the starting left defensive end.
The offensive line starters are left tackle Joseph Noteboom, left guard Austin Schlottman (last year’s starting center), center Patrick Morris, right guard Matt Pryor and right tackle Lucas Niang.
In the secondary, the listed starters are strong safety Ridwan Issahaku, free safety Niko Small, weak safety Nick Orr and cornerback Ranthony Texada. At the other corner spot, Julius Lewis and Jeff Gladney are listed as co-starters. Coach Gary Patterson said it’s possible they will switch out as they did last year.
At placekicker, Brandon Ritchie, Jonathan Song and Cole Bunce are listed as equal.
Kenny Hill is the starting quarterback, with freshman Shawn Robinson as his backup. Patterson has described Robinson as clearly the best of the quarterbacks behind Hill.
At running back, Kyle Hicks, Darius Anderson and Sewo Olonilua are listed as co-starters.
