Oklahoma State first baseman Dustin Williams homered with two outs in the 12th inning to push the Cowboys past TCU 7-6 on Friday night at Lupton Stadium.

Williams, a Weatherford High School product, blasted a two-out solo shot off Horned Frogs closer Riley Ferrell that bounced off the scoreboard behind the right-field wall.

TCU (16-3 overall, 3-1 Big 12) got a runner on in the bottom half of the inning, but pinch runner Evan Williams was left stranded on second base.

The two teams will meet again at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Jones kept TCU alive twice with a two-run home run in the seventh and a triple in the ninth.

Right-hander Mitchell Traver started for TCU and gave up one run — a solo home run by Conor Costello — through five innings. But as the sixth started, Traver issued his fourth walk on a night when he struggled more than usual with his control.

After Tim Arakawa reached, Gage Green laid a sacrifice bunt near the first-base line. Traver fielded it cleanly, with enough time to toss Green at first, but his throw sailed errant into foul territory.

Arakawa came around to tie the game at 2-2, and Corey Hassell, Kevin Bradley and Ryan Sluder later followed with two-out singles to extend OSU’s lead to 5-2.

TCU charged back in the seventh, though, with Jones’ homer and a full-count single from Derek Odell to tie the Cowboys at 5-5. Jacob Chappell answered for OSU (15-6, 1-0) with two outs in the eighth, singling to put the Cowboys back in front 6-5.

TCU left Jones stranded on third base in the ninth after he reached with one out. Keaton Jones and Nolan Brown were left on second and third base, respectively, in the 10th.
