TCU baseball earns 5 selections to preseason All-America team

Five TCU baseball players were selected preseason All-Americans on Monday by Collegiate Baseball, the most in the nation.

Sophomore designated hitter Luken Baker and senior right-handed pitcher Brian Howard were first-team selections.

Baker, the 2016 Big 12 Freshman of the Year, hit .379 with 62 RBIs and 11 home runs to lead the Horned Frogs. Howard went 10-2 with a 3.19 ERA, including 3-0 in the postseason.

Junior catcher Evan Skoug (.301, 51 RBIs) and sophomore relief pitcher Durbin Feltman (3-0, 1.56 ERA, 9 saves) made the second team, while senior third baseman Elliott Barzilli (.339, 7 HRs, 14 SB) was selected to the third team.

TCU is scheduled to open the 2017 season Feb. 17 at home against Penn State.
