TCU men edge Illinois State behind 9-0 run in final minute

TCU forward Vladimir Brodziansky scored a game-high 24 points and the Horned Frogs made a late surge to outlast Illinois State 80-71 Monday night at Schollmaier Arena.

The game was tied 71-71 before a 9-0 run by the Frogs in the final minute.

The triumph marked TCU’s fourth consecutive victory under first-year coach Jamie Dixon, allowing the former Horned Frogs’ player to become the first coach post a 4-0 record in his debut season in Fort Worth.

Until Monday, the fastest start by a first-year coach at TCU had been 3-0, posted by Billy Tubbs (1994-95), Moe Iba (1987-88) and Matty Bell (1923-24).

Dixon and the Frogs will take their 4-0 record on the road in their next outing, Friday night at UNLV.
