TCU used a strong second-half surge and a big scoring night from several newcomers to record an 82-64 victory over the University of St. Thomas in Friday’s debut of coach Jamie Dixon at his alma mater.
Alex Robinson, a transfer from Texas A&M who played at Mansfield Timberview, led the Horned Frogs in scoring with a game-high 16 points. He made 7-of-11 shots from the field.
Freshman point guard Jaylen Fisher, the highest-ranked recruit in program history, finished with 13 points, seven assists, four steals and one block in his college debut. TCU is 1-0 this season. St. Thomas, an NAIA school, is 0-4.
