Another round of icy weather could interfere with the TCU baseball team’s weekend series against Cal Poly.

The Horned Frogs (7-1), ranked No. 1 by Collegiate Baseball, are scheduled to host the Mustangs (2-6) at Lupton Stadium starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Temperatures are expected to be around freezing all day Friday, with chances for precipitation throughout the afternoon and evening. About the same is expected Saturday. No decision on a possible postponement had been made as of Thursday afternoon.

TCU already worked around bad weather earlier in the week, beating Texas Southern 1-0 in a game that was moved from Tuesday to Wednesday. The Frogs didn’t arrive home from a weekend series at Arizona State until Tuesday night because of the weather. Against TSU, Mitchell Traver threw seven scoreless innings and Evan Skoug homered.

Cal Poly is coming off of a 13-2 win over Bakersfield but the Mustangs have started slow. They were swept at Baylor in their opening series and swept again last weekend by Grand Canyon.

TCU will start Preston Morrison who has yet to allow a run in 16 innings. He pitched a three-hit, complete game shutout against Arizona State last Friday and was honored with Big 12 and National Pitcher of the Week honors for the effort.
