TCU linebacker Summers gets second Big 12 defensive player award
TCU linebacker Ty Summers earned Big 12 defensive player of the week honors, his second in five games, after recording 16 tackles against Iowa State.
It was the second start of the season for sophomore from San Antonio, following a 10-tackle performance against Arkansas. He started five games last year, including the season finale against Baylor when he had 23 tackles, among them the game-winning stop to also earn conference honors.

Summers leads the Horned Frogs with 26 tackles this year.
Last season, Summers’ play down the stretch helped TCU find a turnaround on defense en route to a berth in the Alamo Bowl.
