Breaking down TCU’s 30-7 victory over Minnesota

1st-quarter highlight

Josh Doctson made a picture-perfect running catch at the back pylon, putting a foot down in time for a touchdown and a 7-0 lead.

2nd-quarter highlight

Doctson did it again. He went up for a one-handed catch and landed with a foot in bounds for another touchdown, making it 17-0.

3rd-quarter highlight

Two turnovers forced by the Horned Frogs. Chucky Hunter stripped the ball on a run inside, and Chris Hackett picked off a deep pass.

4th-quarter highlight

Minnesota avoided the shutout, scoring on a fourth-and-3 pass from the 12-yard line. It is only the second touchdown allowed by the TCU regulars this year.

Game balls

Josh Doctson. The junior from Mansfield Legacy made two nifty catches for touchdowns in the first half, getting a foot down in the end zone each time.

Paul Dawson. Led the Frogs with 15 tackles, four for loss, plus a forced fumble in the second quarter. Also had a pass breakup.

Jaden Oberkrom. Made three field goals, including two from 40-plus. Those are not gimmes, and they slowly gave TCU breathing room.
